There you go, now you know how to make your coffee without an old-fashioned coffee maker :-)

Easy, fast and efficient, right?

Thanks to this method, you get coffee just as good as that made with an electric or Italian coffee maker.

Know that you do not even need to use a colander or sieve to pour the coffee.

Simply pour in the coffee gently and slowly , from the top of the pan.

Thus, if you are careful, the coffee grounds will stay at the bottom of the pan, and will not transfer to your cup.

You can also simply serve it with a small ladle.

Know that it was my grandfather who taught me this technique when we were wild camping.

It's one of his best camping hacks, and one that also works at home, of course.

By the way, my grandfather still uses this method to make his coffee every morning!

No matter how much we offer him ultra-modern coffee machines, filters, French press coffee makers, Italian coffee makers... he doesn't want them!

According to him, nothing beats a good old-fashioned coffee:with coffee, water and a saucepan.

Like what, sometimes, in life, you don't need superfluous equipment to have fun.

How much water and coffee used?

To make your coffee without a coffee maker, be aware that you have to use a little more water than usual.

For example, if you normally use 2 cups of water, add about half a cup more.

Indeed, part of the water will be used to keep the grounds at the bottom of the pan.

The recommended dosage is 2 tablespoons of coffee for 200 ml of water.

Of course, the quantities vary according to preferences.

To give you an idea, the capacity of a cup of coffee is typically 200 ml.

However, you can adjust the dosage to make coffee stronger or weaker.

For example, my husband prefers his coffee lighter. Thus, it uses only 1 tablespoon of coffee for 200 ml of water.

How to dose the coffee?

The success of a good coffee results mainly from a perfect balance between coffee and water.

And the coffee dosage depends on the type of coffee maker you use. Indeed, each type of coffee maker has its own infusion time:

- filter coffee maker:count 6 g of ground filter coffee for 8 cl of water.

- French press coffee maker:count 7.5 g of coffee for 15 cl of water.

- Italian coffee maker:nothing could be simpler, just fill the coffee tank, without packing it down.

And above all, do not throw away the coffee grounds, because they have many surprising uses! Click here to discover them.
