For the December issue of Santé, we tested several slow juicers and a juicer. After the test period, we know how to get the most out of a slow juicer. A few tips.
- Read the instruction manual before use. Different devices have different functions and settings. It's helpful to know them and they contain instructions on how to best juice fruits and vegetables.
- Alternate hard and soft fruits. This way you will have more juice.
- Do you have pulp left over? You don't have to throw that away, there are plenty of recipes that use pulp. For example, you can use it in a pie or cake, a spread or a soup.
- Does your juicer have a separate waste container for the pulp? Sometimes it is possible to put a bag in it, which saves cleaning and cleaning work.
- Make several glasses of juice in one go. You can keep it in the fridge for up to two days, but you can also freeze your juice.
- A juicer is perfect for using up leftovers. Forgotten apples, half a cucumber… It can all be added to your next juice.
- Don't just add fruit and vegetables to your juice, experiment with herbs too.
Do you have any tips?
