Disguised fruits, we love them!
The problem is that it is very expensive in the stores.
So my grandmother made them herself.
By making them at home, they are small economical treats, very popular with gourmets!
And since it's super easy to do, why deprive yourself? Here is my grandmother's quick and easy recipe for making disguised fruit.
Contents
- Colored marzipan
- A packet of dried fruits (dates, apricots, prunes)
1. Cut your fruit in half lengthwise without completely separating the two halves.
2. Remove pits if necessary.
3. Form small sausages of marzipan and garnish your dried fruits.
4. Close the fruit a little, so that the marzipan is visible.
5. For the walnuts, separate the two kernels, place a piece of marzipan in the center and close to reform the walnut...
There you go, your disguised fruits are already ready :-)
Once finished, place all your disguised fruit in an airtight container and you can store them for two to three weeks in the fridge.
Apricots, walnut kernels, prunes... The advantage of disguised fruits is that the variations are endless. And dried fruits are excellent for your health.
You can only use white marzipan, but it's a shame not to vary the colors. In a tray, it will immediately have more effect!
Sold at high prices in the trade at the time of the holidays, disguised fruits are really easy to make.
I grant you, it sticks (the pitting step is the worst!), but given the savings, I think it's worth it!
It will cost you twice as much to make them yourself than to buy them in a store.
