Not so little wine has been produced since 1961. Will our favorite drink soon become scarce?
The lack of wine is largely due to the disappointing harvest in France, Spain and Italy this year. Frost, drought, forest fires, there are several factors that have hindered production. In Italy, a quarter less wine was produced than last year.
In all of Europe, there are only four countries where wine production was higher than in 2016:Portugal, Romania, Hungary and Austria. Outside Europe, less major changes have taken place. Worldwide there is nevertheless a decrease of 8.2 percent when it comes to the number of liters of wine produced.
