Anyone who has ever had a hangover from a cheap wine knows that the experience is not one to be repeated. But better quality wines that can prevent the hangover can come at a high price. The good news is that you don't have to especially buy more expensive wine, because there are some hacks you can use to avoid a hangover, even for the cheapest variant. We list them here.
Take an antihistamine If you know that red wine only gives you hangovers, you may have a histamine problem. If you like to enjoy red wine, take some antihistamine before drinking and that should definitely make a difference.
Take vitamin C beforehand
Take Vitamin C before drinking. While this won't stop you from getting drunk, it has been proven to reduce alcohol toxicity and the irritable side effects you have the next day.

That's the best hangover prevention – the fear stops ordering a last glass of wine.
Take multi-vitamin before you sleep
Take a good quality multi-vitamin before going to sleep. Alcohol depletes your body of important minerals, especially magnesium, potassium and zinc.
Drink lots of water Most hangovers come from dehydration – so it has more to do with the amount you've had than the price of the wine. Therefore, each glass of wine should always be paired with a glass of water. Always drink a large glass of water before going to sleep. Also put a bottle of water next to your bed so you can drink if you get thirsty.
Drink wine with less alcohol
Drink wines with less alcohol. Wines with a lower alcohol indicator usually come from cooler climates. Good low alcohol options include:Pinot Noir, Riesling, Beaujolais, Sauvignon Blanc, spritzers, and German white and Loire Valley wines.
Watch out for the size of the glass The bigger the glass, the more wine you drink. So take smaller glasses. Also, a tall glass (250ml) is a third of a bottle...something worth bearing in mind when telling yourself you've only had two glasses in the pub!
Eat while drinking
Eat while you drink! This slows the rate of alcohol absorption into the blood.
Avoid sweet drinks and sweet food
Avoid highly refined sugary soft drinks or food while drinking alcohol.
Refined sugar can activate the immune system and cause inflammation, which can affect mental processes the next day.
Painkillers
Do you have a hangover headache? Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory pain relievers may provide some relief. These include ibuprofen (Advil and similar drugs) and naproxen (Aleve).
