Every year around this time it's the same thing.. .
I'm overrun with gnats in the kitchen!
At the same time, it's my fault, because I leave fruit, onions and potatoes in the kitchen...
Fortunately, my grandmother revealed to me her magic trap to get rid of small flies naturally.
Don't worry, this trap only takes 2 min to do and you can say goodbye to flies!
Look, it's quite simple:
Contents
- glass jar
- A4 sheet of paper
- tape
- 2 pieces of overripe apple
- 2 pieces of stale bread
1. Roll up the sheet of paper to make a funnel. The top part should be as wide as possible and the bottom part as wide as a finger.
2. Once the funnel is the right size, put a piece of tape to hold the sheet of paper.
3. Put the apple pieces in the jar, crushing them a little to release some juice. The more scents, the better!
4. Add the piece of bread on top.
5. Place the paper funnel over it without touching the bread.
6. Place your magic trap where you have the most gnats. For example in the kitchen near the fruit basket.
7. Once the jar is full of fruit gnats, take it outside to release the gnats. Remove the funnel only when you are far enough away from home and your door is closed.
8. Retry the operation if necessary.
And lo and behold, thanks to this homemade trap, you have eliminated the gnats from the house :-)
Easy, fast and efficient, right?
No chemicals, no insecticides, just a natural trick to get rid of fruit midges in the house!
Do not overfill the jar or the gnats may be able to climb out of the jar.
Bread is actually your secret weapon! Indeed, the smell of fruit will attract gnats to the jar.
And then the bread will keep them in the jar, because gnats love it!
Once trapped inside, the little flies no longer know how to get out of the jar. Clever, isn't it?
