You are in the middle of the recipe and you are about to put your dish in the oven .
But there, big question!
The recipe indicates a temperature in degrees. The problem is that you have an oven with a thermostat.
And if you improvise on the temperature, you risk missing your recipe.
An oven that is too hot or too cold can cause you to miss cooking a dish.
Fortunately, there is a solution to find it easily.
Just use our guide to temperature equivalences in degrees Celsius and thermostat . Watch:
Note: This guide is valid regardless of the energy supplying the oven.
Here are all the oven heat equivalents:
- Warm oven: thermostat 1 or 50°C.
- Very gentle oven: thermostat 2 or 50°C to 110°C.
- Mild Oven: thermostat 3 to 5 or 110°C to 170°C.
- Hot or medium oven: thermostat 5 to 7 or 170°C to 230°C.
- Very hot oven: thermostat 7 to 9 or 230°C to 280°C.
- Hot oven: thermostat 10 or 300°C.
There you go, now you know how to convert your thermostat to degrees Celsius :-)
You'll never get stuck in a recipe again.
Note: It's rare, but sometimes ovens don't have a thermometer or thermostat. If so, there's only one thing to do:wave your hand in the oven to gauge the temperature. But be careful not to burn yourself.
