New in the Netherlands:Good Rootz

Good Rootz is a new concentrate for shooting, mixing and cooking and is also super healthy. These different preparation methods ensure that a different ingredient is always given the leading role. That makes you want more!

7 flavors with their own effect and taste

Good Rootz is a concentrate that consists of seven different root types from all over the world:ginger, turmeric, horseradish, maca, yacon, ginseng and licorice – each with its own effect and taste. Maca (India), for example, provides a sweet tone and also increases libido. Ginger (Peru) gives spiciness and is anti-inflammatory. The earthy taste and color come from turmeric (Peruvian Andes). For the perfect balance, juice of organic Sicilian lemons, cane sugar and cayenne pepper has been added. It is this composition that gives it so many layers. Whoever starts the day with a shot of 25 ml of Good Rootz will notice that the taste builds up from spicey via sweet to an earthy aftertaste.

Multi-applicable
But it is precisely the versatility of Good Rootz that founder Diederick Evers (41) finds important:'I can imagine that a pure shot is too intense for some. Sparkling water makes it a very layered, fresh drink and when you heat it in a dish, the concentrate caramelizes, making it sweet but still spicy.” Give your breakfast, mock- or cocktail a boost or drink it as (chai) tea . A selection of the Good Rootz recipes:the Mango Vanilla Mocktail, Hot &Spicy Apple Cider, Tikka Masala, pumpkin hummus and Basque cheesecake with caramel sauce.

Back to the rootz Evers' rootz have been deeply rooted in the culinary world for a long time:the main purpose of the journeys he made was to discover as many flavors as possible. In 2015 he started a catering company in Amsterdam, together with his mother/chef. The place where he converts his love for flavors into a 100% organic and vegan concentrate:Good Rootz. 'Carrots are very interesting:very different in taste, but the individual effect is also diverse, and I wanted to put them all in one bottle,' says Evers'. Then the art is in finding the right balance of taste – but also the combination of the ingredients. Evers:'We literally locked ourselves in the kitchen and turned the (stove) knobs until we were satisfied'.

The bottle
And then it looks really good too! The Good Rootz bottle is inspired by a apothecary bottle (a nod to the powerful effect of the ingredients) and the old shape of a lemonade bottle. The roots play a subtle role on the label and packaging – which are made from recycled paper and cardboard. In addition, with every glass bottle, you will find the glass Good Rootz measuring cup, which measures several mls. The basis of every boost!
