Yes, the effectiveness of this grandmother's recipe has been demonstrated by researchers at the University of Nebraska, in the United States.
In this study, they demonstrated in vitro the effects of chicken broth on our organism.
According to them, it acts on a certain type of white blood cells, neutrophils, necessary to fight an infection.
They noted "a significant reduction in their activity, suggesting that chicken broth has a proven anti-inflammatory effect".
Very useful benefits to relieve a sore throat or a cold.

Here is the recipe for Grandma's authentic chicken broth:
- 1 whole chicken
- 3 large onions
- 1 large potato
- 3 parsnips
- 2 white turnips
- 10 carrots
- 1 bunch of fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper
- 2 liters of water
1. Place the chicken in a large pot.
2. Cover it with cold water.
3. Bring to a boil.
4. Wash all the vegetables.
5. Cut the onions, potatoes, parsnips, turnips and carrots into not too large pieces.
6 . Put all those vegetables in the pot.
7. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper.
8. Reduce the heat a little and simmer for about 1h30.
9. Using a slotted spoon, remove the fat from the surface of the water.
10. Add the parsley previously cut with a knife.
11 . Using a slotted spoon, remove all the vegetables from the pot.
12. Blend them all together or mash them with a potato masher.
13. Add this coarsely chopped purée back to the soup.
14. Cook 45 min more on low heat.
15 . Remove the chicken from the pot.
There you go, your grandmother's chicken broth is already ready :-)
