1. Make sweetened condensed milk

What to do with expired milk powder? 10 Uses to Know.

I love sweetened condensed milk. I always have a box for my kids.

I also put it in my pastries or my pets' homemade treats.

Disadvantage ? This is because condensed milk is often sold in a can that is too big.

Result:we lose a good part of it.

Since I hate waste, I learned how to make condensed milk from powdered milk.

Here's how:

- 50 g Régilait powdered milk

- 75g boiling water

- 100g caster sugar

Mix the powdered milk and sugar in a large bowl.

Then add the water little by little while mixing.

Microwave for 1 minute then mix with a whisk.

Put back 30s of microwave and whisk.

Repeat the operation 2 more times so that the mixture swells and thickens.

Then let cool and put in a jar.

2. Or creamy condensed milk

Here's another kitchen trick for reusing expired milk powder.

Unsweetened condensed milk is ideal for thickening a sauce.

You can also prepare a very creamy sauce.

Personally, I love it to make my bechamel sauce super creamy.

For this, put 750 ml of water and 110 g of powdered milk in a mixer.

Then, beat until the mixture is smooth.

Guess what I love?

This recipe replaces heavy cream when you don't have any in the fridge!

Whipped cream on strawberries, waffles or with chocolate cake.

This is a great solution for those who use very little milk.

It's true that it's always annoying to buy a carton of milk and lose half of it.

Now I have the solution for my guests who take milk in their coffee or tea.

I take out a small jar of adult milk powder.

The advantage is that it does not take up space...

...and that it can be kept for several months after the expiry date.

5. Make instant hot chocolate

Of course you can also prepare a good hot chocolate with powdered milk.

But there is one thing that I love above all :

It's preparing small chocolate/powdered milk mixtures all ready.

That way, I can make instant chocolate when I want and where I want.

I prepare some in small individual sachets.

It's super convenient to go to work, because there is only hot water to pour over the mixture.

6. Make curd

To make fresh cheese yourself with milk powder, it's really easy.

Prepare ricotta with the recipe from point 7.

The more cream added, the fatter and softer the cottage cheese will be in the mouth.

The image of Cleopatra in her milk bath is not pure fiction.

Indeed, we know that one of the beauty rituals of Egyptian women was to bathe in milk.

Why?

Because it softens the skin, hydrates it and removes dead skin.

Once a week, treat yourself to an Egyptian bath by adding powdered milk to your hot bath water.

Your skin will love it and it avoids throwing your expired milk powder in the trash.

Milk has a moisturizing power known for millennia.

So why not make a face mask out of it?

To do this, mix milk powder with water to obtain a paste.

Then spread it on your face with a brush.

Let dry and rinse with lukewarm water.

For even more moisturizing effect, you can add a few drops of olive oil.
