Use these tips to make your dinner lighter, but still tasteful.
Lemon juice
The juice of a lemon is a perfect substitute for sauce. The juice adds a wonderfully fresh taste. Also a good dressing for your salad.
Herbs
Experiment with herbs more often. Herbs are healthy and can provide surprising combinations. Also, consider cutting out the salt and opting for spices>>
Oven
Use the oven a little more often. It often takes a little longer to prepare a dish in the oven, but it is often a lot healthier than the alternative (frying, the microwave…).
Vegetable stock
Use vegetable stock instead of oil to cook vegetables and chicken.
Crispy crust
If you want chicken or fish with a crispy layer, sprinkle your dish with cornflakes crumbs before putting it in the oven. You can also sprinkle rusk crumbs over an oven dish.
Mashed potatoes
In a thicker soup, replace the cream with mashed potatoes.
