The pitfalls of your evening meal… With solutions.
1. Eating too large portions
Empty the pan, it's a shame to throw that leftover away. Recognizable? When you're only cooking for yourself, it's even harder to cook appropriate portions. If you eat more than your body needs every night, you will eventually gain weight.
Solution: Freeze leftover food so you can thaw a healthy meal later. Don't like freezing or don't have the space for it? Divide recipes for four by two or by four if you eat together or alone.
2. Eating hidden sugars
You wouldn't add a spoonful of sugar to your pasta sauce yourself, but many everyday products contain more sugar than you expect.
Solution: Read labels! In addition, try to make as many sauces, marinades and dressings as possible yourself, so that you know exactly which ingredients are in them.
3. Snitch while cooking
After you've worked, you're hungry. While you are preparing a healthy meal, take a handful of nuts or a slice of cheese.
Solution: All you can do is learn to resist the temptation and wait for the food to be ready. Also read our article about how to put a healthy dinner on the table as quickly as possible.
