You won't be happy if something explodes in your microwave.
1. A dry sponge
A damp sponge is an ideal habitat for bacteria. To kill bacteria, you can put the wet sponge in the microwave for one to two minutes. However, never put a dry sponge in the microwave. A microwave makes the water molecules in a wet sponge move, friction heats the sponge. When a sponge is dry, there are no molecules that can move, so the sponge can catch fire.
2. Eggs in the shell
You can't boil an egg in the microwave. The steam has no way through the shell, so the egg can explode as soon as it gets too hot.
3. Metal
A saucer with a metal rim, the rack that belongs to your oven… Don't put it in the microwave.
4. Aluminum foil You also get the well-known flashes of light in your microwave through aluminum foil. Although, it seems that a small piece of aluminum foil that is smooth should not be a problem. In any case, we do not take any risks.
5. Marshmallows If you think you have a brilliant plan for making marshmellows nice and soft, don't put them in the microwave. The airy structure makes the marshmellows bigger and eventually they can explode. If your microwave is full of sticky marshmellow, you're not happy to say the least.
