Perfect for breakfast or as a snack, plain donuts can be garnished, according to your tastes, with jam, cream, chocolate... A real delight! To prepare them, follow our recipe! Mix 700 g of flour, 1 pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons of caster sugar. Then dig a well in the center of the flour and add 15 cl of milk, the same quantity of water in which you have dissolved 20 g of baker's yeast and 80 g of melted butter. Mix the dough, first with a spatula and then by hand, so as to obtain a homogeneous dough. Cover the dough with a clean tea towel then let it rise for 1h30 at room temperature. Then roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1cm and cut out discs. Let them rise again for 1 hour and then fry the donuts in hot oil. Sprinkle them with sugar.
In a bowl, mix 250 g of flour and 1 sachet of yeast. Add 2 egg yolks, 1 pinch of salt then 20 cl of milk. Once the preparation is homogeneous, add 2 beaten egg whites. Peel and core four apples (leaving them whole) then cut them into rounds. Dip the apple rings in the donut batter and fry them for a few minutes. Sprinkle with sugar and enjoy!
The recipe for zucchini fritters is the same as that for apple fritters, except that the apples are replaced by zucchini, and the dough is not sweetened. To enhance the somewhat bland taste of zucchini, you can add curry and nutmeg to the donut batter. Serve them hot or cold, accompanied by a small cheese sauce and fresh herbs. Perfect for getting kids to eat vegetables.
