Chicken paprika is a fairly common dish. It is prepared by simmering chicken thighs in a tasty creamy and spicy paprika sauce. Paprikàscsirke is typically Hungarian. This dish is traditionally accompanied by small gnocchi called galuskas.

Hortobágyi palacsinta:pancakes with sauce

Palacsinta are delicious savory pancakes served as a dish with sauce. It is customary to prepare a filling for pancakes from minced pork, add onions, mushrooms and paprika to it. The crepes thus stuffed are then covered with a fresh cream sauce and then baked for about ten minutes.

Halászlé:pepper bouillabaisse

It is one of the true specialties of the country, it is especially present in the south of Hungary, more particularly in the region of Tisza. It is in the heart of this region that the best varieties of sweet peppers used to make paprika are grown.

Gulyasleves:goulash soup

Goulash is certainly the most popular dish in Hungarian gastronomy. It is a dish traditionally made in rural areas. It comes in the form of a soup, but with a particularly thick texture. Goulash is more substantial than a simple soup and can therefore be eaten as a main dish. It is prepared with meat cut into small pieces, potatoes, peppers, lots of onion and paprika. There are many variations of goulash based on regional specialties; in addition, it may also contain white beans.

Paprika

This dish is literally called paprika. It is extremely fragrant and is usually prepared with meat, but there are variations with chicken or fish. It is one of the most typical dishes of Hungarian cuisine. The meat is simmered then browned in a sauce prepared with peppers, onion, garlic, cream and of course paprika, lots of paprika.
