Yes, taking a picture of your meal, whether at home or at a restaurant, has become a fairly commonplace gesture, although often mocked. And besides a good photo (=good light + good filters), which makes a photo get the most likes, you have to use the right hashtags.
The English site SousVideTools.com, which offers food vacuum sealers for professionals and individuals, conducted a survey to find out the most popular dishes/foods on Instagram (excluding desserts). And the big winner is…the pizza! With nearly 20 million mentions on Instagram, the Italian specialty is far ahead of all the others. To complete the podium, we find in second place sushi (with more than 13.4 million mentions all the same) and chicken (11.9 million mentions). Then come, in order:the salad, the pasta, the bacon, the burger (only 7th??! but yes!), the eggs, the steak, the salmon, the avocado, the soup, the tacos, the sandwich, fries, ramen, curry, noodles, lobster and sausage. So, surprises? We must admit that there is at least one big missing in this ranking:cheese. But this is probably due to the fact that the ranking was made based on hashtags in English…
