Rankings of all kinds returning to the year 2016 never cease to abound. This time, it's Google's turn to do it. The American giant has unveiled the recipes that have been most sought after by the French and Americans during the year. If the French are definitely more into sweets, in the United States, it is savory dishes that have more success. We would have rather bet on the opposite!
In France, the first step of the podium is occupied by a national specialty loved by all:pancakes. Silver and bronze also go back to sweet pleasures, Anglo-Saxon this time, cookies and pancakes. Tiramisu is obviously very popular with the French since it is positioned in fifth place in the top 10. The Italian dessert had also won first place in the ranking of the most ordered desserts on home delivery sites. When it comes to savory food, the French have a small preference for national dishes:quiche Lorraine is fourth and tartiflette sixth.
In the top of the United States, there are a number of American specialties in the ranking:the Green Bean Casserole, a dish made with green beans, cream of mushroom soup and fried onions cooked in a casserole comes first and the Hashbrown Casserole ( dish based on cheddar cheese and potatoes) comes third and chicken Tetrazzini sixth (pasta au gratin in a creamy chicken and mushroom sauce designed in honor of an Italian singer). According to their research, Americans also love foreign dishes:guacamole in fourth place, Chicken Marsala in fifth or Snow Cream (Asian dessert) in seventh place. What made us laugh? Brussels sprouts come second. We didn't see that coming!
And we who thought Americans had a sweet tooth…
