Laura Najem, who founded the Lebanese Society with the aim of "bringing Lebanese students together to make Manchester feel at home", told the local newspaper that the idea for such an event came to her after observing strong demand from students. “The hummus that young people buy at the local supermarket does not taste the same as the authentic recipe made in Lebanon.
