Not long now and the holidays are just around the corner! After all, Sinterklaas has already arrived in the country and soon we will be preparing for the Christmas season. One of the best things about the season is, of course, the food. But for those of us trying to be mindful of what we consume during the holiday season, it can be difficult when faced with tables full of deliciously tempting food. If there's one thing we don't believe in during the holiday season, it's that calories don't count, and here are 15 reasons why:
1. The food is great.
2. … and you don't want it to be lost.
3. You worked so hard to make the food,
4. … just like your relatives (and you wouldn't want to offend them by not eating it).
5. You don't want to throw away leftovers.
6. Enjoying a few days can't hurt.
7. …nor will it ruin a year of hard work.
8. It's sweater season anyway.
9. … why not hide your fat layers under a sweater for a few weeks?
10. If the nutritional value doesn't accompany the dish, there are no calories...right?
11. It is socially acceptable to eat until you fall asleep on the couch surrounded by family.
12. You deserve to enjoy the holiday season for what it is – a time to connect with family and friends and enjoy great food and drink.
13. You're ruining the holidays by worrying about your latest diet.
14. Salad is probably the healthiest option available, and no one wants to eat that with SO much else to choose from.
15. You have plenty of time to work out the calories in the new year.
