After an eventful year for the Dutch hospitality industry, Thuisbezorgd.nl has awarded restaurants for their hard work, dedication and preparing the tastiest meals in 2020. Unique restaurants that have changed the traditional landscape were also put in the spotlight during the Thuisbezorgd.nl Awards 2020. Tandoori Express can call itself the very best delivery restaurant in the Netherlands this year. Björn Burgers with its 100% vegetarian and vegan burgers was declared the game changer of the Netherlands.
The Thuisbezorgd.nl Awards are annual public awards that represent the appreciation of Dutch food lovers. The reviews on Thuisbezorgd.nl are decisive in the annual ranking. The more than 10,000 affiliated restaurants in the Netherlands were able to participate in ten different categories. In addition, winners have also been announced per city.
Audience Awards
This year for the first time there were public awards for the best veggie restaurant in the Netherlands and the absolute Gamechanger. The Groningen FLFL was voted best veggie restaurant by the Dutch public. FLFL is known for its freshly scooped falafel based on its own recipe. Customers are surprised every day by delicious healthy dishes that provide a true taste explosion with homemade hummus, tahini and fresh herb spread.
Björn Burgers was declared the game changer of the Netherlands due to its distinct character. At Björn Burgers you eat 100% vegetarian and vegan burgers. But at Björn Burgers they believe that vegetarian burgers are still in their infancy. That's why they call themselves a concept formula. They change the menu regularly and are constantly experimenting with different recipes. If it's good, then it stays. If a burger is not to your liking, it will immediately disappear from the menu.
Also during the Thuisbezorgd.nl Awards 2020, only one restaurant could simply be the very best. The performance of the Amsterdam Tandoori Express has therefore been rewarded with the title of the best restaurant in the Netherlands.
The best newcomer among Dutch restaurants is Burger Special. Last year they won the hearts of their customers and were rewarded for this during the Thuisbezorgd.nl Awards. Furthermore, it turned out in 2020 that the Dutch still love to eat at Domino's Pizza, which is why they have been awarded the best chain in the Netherlands.
