Throw foie gras? No way ! But to avoid stuffing the whole family with it after a good meal, I freeze the remaining slices and take them out when I feel like it.
Who has never had a sudden craving for foie gras, for a romantic dinner or a festive aperitif with friends? However, you can rarely afford to buy a block too often! To overcome this financial problem, I have my trick:I freeze the remaining slices of foie gras when I make a meal and I can then take them out as I wish.
Yes, when I buy a block of foie gras, I often have two or three slices left. And it's the kind of food that doesn't keep for long at all. So, rather than waste, I opt for my favorite method of preservation:I freeze! All you have to do is wrap each slice in transparent film.
I then put it in the freezer and dig into that premium stash when I need it! Thawing is very quick and in no way alters the taste of the foie gras.

This trick can allow you to make real savings if you do it right:indeed, at certain times, such as after the holidays for example, supermarkets sell off foie gras, displaying discounts that reach more than 50%. I take this opportunity to buy several blocks of foie gras, which I slice and freeze.
The savings made can reach several tens of euros per year!
