There are multiple ways to save on food expenses on a daily basis.
Picking, refunded products, low-cost restaurants have enabled me to save up to €1,000 over a year.
I therefore present below my different methods to save money all year round.
Do not hesitate to click on the blue links which will take you to the articles on the site detailing these methods in more detail.
I am a picking enthusiast. Nature is rich in edible and wild fruits and plants, the best known of which is nettle. A large part of my food is therefore completely free:soup, salads, spices, tea, compotes, etc. On average, I easily save €200 per year
In the same spirit, the exchange of services helps me fill my fruit and vegetable bins. Whether through the "straw hat" network or people who need help to pick up their crops, local and seasonal fruits and vegetables are therefore part of my daily life at a low price. I calculate on average €350 in savings year round.
100% money back products are not just a myth. With a little organization, I pay myself my gastronomic desires of the moment for free according to the current offers. But be careful, this activity can still be time-consuming.
I am reimbursed on average for 2 products per week for around €25 reimbursed per month, i.e. per year:€300 in savings.
I take advantage of the warm Parisian restaurants that offer their dish for a drink. But I'm not an extremist either. I have a social life and I never refuse invitations or restaurants with friends.
A low-cost restaurant per month saves me about €240/year
In any case, I always avoid buying prepared products that I could make myself or throwing myself on the first ready-to-eat sandwich. Anticipating and cooking quickly becomes a leitmotif! I try to waste as little as possible by using the joys of preserving or cooking leftovers.
Finally, to save money, you have to invest a little. Some household appliances are very practical to achieve even more savings. My favorite remains the dehydrator.
And you, do you have any other tips for saving on the food budget? Come and share your ideas with us in the comments.
In the end, I therefore saved at least 200 + 350 + 300 + 240 =1090€ and I do not count the savings made by "doing it yourself" or those made by my little household appliances such as the yogurt maker, the germinator, the dehydrator etc.
