On February 14, many lovers celebrate Valentine's Day.
A gourmet menu is a must for this special occasion.
Haven't planned anything yet?
For Valentine and Valentin to spend the most sensual of evenings, here are 3 little secrets...
Because a candlelight dinner cannot be improvised, the Goddess of Love came to put her two cents in my kitchen...
For a good introduction, Valentin will taste oysters, or foie gras (Thrifty, I froze some after the Christmas holidays) or a salmon tartare with fresh ginger. No question of missing my entry
In order to spice up our evening, I push the vice a little by continuing with a dish based on spices, real love potions:I opt for chicken skewers with ginger, or a monkfish tail with saffron and orange or spiced prawns with garlic and turmeric. These dishes with aphrodisiac virtues are inexpensive and reveal all their flavor sprinkled with spices.
And to melt with pleasure, I bet everything on the chocolate:I serve it melting, with vanilla ice cream and a few strawberries or with an orange custard.
Tonight, champagne is a must! Plain or in a cocktail, I decline it according to my desires:in champagne soup, in rose syrup or even flavored with lychee juice, the bubbles are in the spotlight for this festive meal.
This romantic evening, I want it sparkling until the end of the night. So as not to melt my wallet, I roam the shelves of my supermarket in search of a good bottle but at a reasonable price.
For this one-to-one meeting, I want a sensual and refined atmosphere. I banish blinding lights and place small colored candles (why not red, the color of love?) all over the room. This warm and cozy atmosphere is very romantic.
I then prepare the decoration of my table. I take care not to overload it too much and to harmonize my colors well:I avoid multicolour, which is a bit aggressive, and rather play with two (or even three) colors linked to those of my dishes. I dress my table with a pretty tablecloth, place a few candles and sprinkle it with red fabric rose petals (Amazon link).
If my dinner is a treat for the taste buds, however, I avoid filling my plates too much:it would be a shame if my Valentine fell asleep as soon as the meal was over!
