You have very sharp kitchen knives that you don't want to leave lying around in the drawer with the rest of your cutlery?
You don't have a knife holder to store them?
Rather than buying one, there is a much cheaper and just as effective homemade trick.
Buy skewers. It will cost you less than 1€ in the trade. I found mine for 95 cents at Carrefour.
Arrange them in an old recycled jar and place your kitchen knives there. Cherry on the cake, or cherry on the cake as our Roastbeef friends say, this homemade knife holder is quite decorative, don't you think?
Be careful that the knives hold well, you will need a good packet of skewers so that the jar is filled to the maximum.
Do not skimp on the quantities of skewers, it will always be cheaper than a knife holder (and less bulky).
You can replace the skewers with pasta or even rice.
