It's one of the joys of summer:picking your own fruits in nature.
But we don't necessarily know when to pick them.
Fortunately, here is a little illustrated calendar to help you.
You will be able to use this guide throughout the summer and pick good fruit at the right time:
1. Strawberries: May to June.
2. Cherries: June to July.
3. Blueberries: July to October.
4. Blackberries: June to August.
5. Peaches: July to September.
6. Raspberries: June to August.
7. Figs: July to September.
8. Tomatoes: July to September.
9. Apples: August to September.
There you go, now you know when is the best time to go pick fruit in the wild :-)
Now that you know when to pick the fruit, you might be wondering where to pick it?
What would you say if I told you that there is a site that lists all the places where you can pick them?
And, what's more, for free?
Well this site exists and, in addition, it is participatory! That is to say that you too can add the places you know to the map.
The site is called fallingfruit.org ("falling fruits", in French). It already lists more than half a million places in the world where fruit can be found for free. Too bad, for the moment, the site is only in English.
