No more tweeting in restaurants?

French chefs are tired of often taking a picture of the food first. Why?

Unappetizing in the photo
The photos are often of poor quality, which makes the dishes look unappetising. Before the food is tweeted and liked, it's almost cold again and that's a shame. In addition, chefs think that it ruins the atmosphere when a smartphone is brought to the table.

Interruption
'We try to give guests a break from everyday life, for that you have to switch off your phone,' says the chef of restaurant La Grenouillere. Furthermore, the camera's flash is disruptive to other guests.

Copycats
All those pictures of the dishes on social media take away the surprise for future guests and the chefs run the risk that their dishes are copied. In short, some French chefs see only drawbacks. There are already restaurants that have introduced a photo ban.

Do you think taking pictures of food in restaurants should be banned?
