The art of saying no

You are healthy, but then you get all kinds of tasty things on a birthday. You should actually say no… This week Marije from Fitness Bible for women is giving us a crash course in saying no.

Marije: Competing with your environment is terribly irritating. In fact, I think this is the biggest reason people fail to achieve goals. I'm going to give you some tips to make it easier for you.

Say this if you're offered something delicious and you'd rather not:
"Thank you. Sweet of you, but I'll skip this time.' Simple, isn't it? This one always works well.
"At the moment I'm following the Fitness Bible for women program and Marije won't let me have this until tonight." Blame me. No problem!

Or suggest an alternative:
A bowl of greasy snacks:'No, thank you, I'll taste one of your tasty snacks later.'
Then choose the healthy snacks that appear on the table.

Never say or do this:
Looking dirty at your co-worker's microwave meal and saying,
"Damn! What do you eat for waste? Do you know that it makes you very fat?'
'No thanks, it makes you fat!'

And don't make excuses:
“I get a stomachache when I eat that.”
“I'm allergic to that.” Unless it's true.
There comes a time when you do eat it (oops… forgot ) and then you'll be embarrassed.

Remember!
Mastering the art of saying 'no' to those around you is just as important as the art of saying 'no' to yourself.
