We all know the art of making drawings in a cup of coffee with milk, the "latte art", which makes Instagrammers happy. Today, we have found the master of this art and he is Korean. Her name ? Kangbin Lee. From Van Gogh, to Munch and Disney, to The Little Prince, this barista knows how to do it all. Dyes and magic are there (and it's downright addictive to watch…)!
We all dream of doing the same thing at home to impress our friends or our darling, but it's not an easy thing... The basis of all latte art is a cappuccino in a large cup (this way the drawing will be easier to achieve). To make the foam, you need very cold whole milk. First we make the espresso preferably by hand (no capsule!) and the sportiest arrives. For those who are a bartender, no need for an explanation, but for the muggles of latte art (us, what!), you need a glass jar with a lid, a microwave and the milk. We heat the milk in the jar between 60 and 90 seconds at full power (we watch that it does not explode either). We take out the jar, screw on the lid and shake very hard for at least 20 seconds to have a sufficiently dense foam. It's finish ! The best reason to start? The leaf (simple and effective):fill the cup two-thirds full and “shake” your wrist back and forth to form a kind of fern. Do not panic in case of failure, there are tutorials with more visual and precise explanations! And with a little patience we may end up at the level of Kangbin Lee (or not).
Good after, not sure that it's very good and that the coffee is still hot... but we taste with our eyes!
