A Syrian restaurant with a nice story.
Today is the official opening of restaurant Syr. From tomorrow you can enjoy Syrian cuisine with a European twist. For 25 euros you order a three-course menu with meat, fish or a vegetarian menu. The initiator of the restaurant is the team of Gys, the organic restaurant with already two locations in Utrecht and one in Rotterdam.
The special thing about restaurant Syr is that it creates workplaces for refugees, so that they can take their first steps on the labor market and get to know the Netherlands better. The proceeds will go to the Foundation for Refugee Students UAF, a process in which refugees entitled to stay are prepared within one year to start their own business in the Netherlands.
