You have probably wondered in the supermarket:what is the difference between feta and white cheese? We explain.
The name can sometimes be confusing. When is something feta and when do we call it white cheese? And what is the difference?
Due to European regulations, a cheese may only be called feta if the cheese is produced in Greece and made from a minimum of 70% sheep's milk and a maximum of 30% goat's milk. Producers who make similar cheese from cow's milk therefore give it a different name, such as white cheese or Mediterranean cheese cubes.
