In her column, Annemiek writes this month that she has a taste for sprouting. Also try?
What are sprouts? Seed vegetables are vegetables of which you do not eat the adult plant, but the seedlings:the young plants that emerge from the seeds. Almost all seeds, grains and legumes can be germinated. Always buy good quality organic seeds. Make sure that the seeds are not broken, because then they will not germinate. Once germinated, you can keep them in the fridge for about a week.
You can make sprouts out of this
Seeds
Sesame, sunflower, buckwheat, pumpkin
Vegetable seed
Alfalfa, radish, kale, fenugreek, turnip
Beans or legumes
Mung beans, lentils, chickpeas, green peas
Grains
Barley, maize, wheat, quinoa, amaranth, rye
You need this
This is how you make it
Rinse the seeds with water. Place them in the pot and cover with a few inches of cooled boiled water. Cover the jar with the cloth, put the elastic around it and leave it overnight in a warm, dark place. The next morning, rinse the seeds with cold water without removing them from the pot. Let them drain well. Put the jar back in the dark. Repeat rinsing twice a day until the seed germinates. Place the pot on a sunny windowsill that is not in full sun all day. Harvest when your sprouts are the desired size.
