From time to time, we like to indulge in a few drinks to decompress after a long day/week of work (but always in moderation). On the other hand, we would do without the undesirable effects of alcohol:headaches, nausea, hangover and above all damage to health.
A Briton seems to have heard the call... This researcher from Imperial College London has achieved a feat:by synthesizing the molecule of alcohol, he has created a drink capable of providing the effects of alcohol, but without the bad sides. Called alcosynth, the beverage gives those who ingest it the impression of being alcoholic, for two hours, before the effects dissipate without a trace the next day and above all without degrading health.
Well, the bad news is that the alcosynth will not invade the supermarket shelves tomorrow. The scientist explained that he hopes to replace traditional alcohol with his creation by 2050. But there is still hope:two of the 90 compositions of synthetic alcohol he has developed are currently in test phase and could be marketed soon. It's a rather surprising innovation, but one that has real positive points.
And you, would you try synthetic alcohol?
