Lobster, caviar, truffles or gold foil are not the usual ingredients of popular Mexican tacos. However, chef Juan Alcalá Licerio of l'hôtel Grand Velas, used them to create the world's most expensive taco, costing $25,000. The taco is prepared with ingredients such as langoustine, Kobe beef, Beluga caviar and white truffles and black, served on a corn tortilla that contains sheets of 24 karat gold. It's spiced with an exotic Morita chili salsa and finished with civet coffee and ultra-premium tequila. The taco can also be accompanied by a special drink:tequila “Pasion Azteca”, the price of which is $150,000 per bottle. But then you also have a really luxurious meal!
