Prosecco really makes you drunk faster

Prosecco has become an increasingly popular drink in recent years. It's a cheaper variant of champagne, and some even say it makes them feel a different kind of drunkenness — and it turns out there may be some truth in that. For some it's vodka and for others it's red wine, but often people have one alcoholic drink that makes them feel "different" drunk. We may have come to the conclusion that we're imagining things (prosecco is often drunk during the day and 'during the day' often feels different from evening drinking), but there is scientific evidence that prosecco makes you drunk faster.
 
Studies have shown that fizzy, alcoholic drinks, such as champagne, prosecco and cava, make us drunk faster. This is because the bubbles allow the alcohol to get into our stomach and bloodstream faster. When our stomachs are filled with the gas that the alcohol produces, it gets into our gut faster. There's also a reason your first glass of prosecco will make you more intoxicated than your second or third. When the bottle of bubbles is colder, the carbon dioxide bubbles escape more slowly, which means they stay in the drink longer and get into your bloodstream faster. When the bottle starts to warm up, the bottle becomes less carbonated and the bubbles disperse. So there you have it:'prosecco drunk' is not a myth.
