This year, the Dutchman has again googled for recipes en masse. The recipes vary from traditional Dutch to Asian. Is your favorite recipe listed?
Google has made an overview of recipes that were most often searched by the Dutch in 2019. We mainly look for dishes that are easy to prepare. The most sought-after recipe is chili con carne.

There are many student meals in the list. Meals such as chili con carne, pasta pesto, spaghetti and chicken curry are known as real student meals and are easy and cheap.
Subscriptions to meal boxes have increased significantly in the past year. This can be seen in the searches for vegetables such as green asparagus and Chinese cabbage. People would like to know what else they can make with this vegetable if they like it.
It is striking that there are only three dishes that contain meat:chili con carne (which can also become chili sin carne), boeuf bourguignon and chicken curry. Meat can of course also be used in other dishes, but we are becoming more and more aware of eating less meat. Sweet potato is twice in the list. Once with the word recipe behind it and once without. The soups are missing from the list. Is this because we all know how to make soup? People are increasingly buying fresh packages for soup in the supermarket or do we prefer a can of soup to fresh soup.
