How to bake apple pie in the slow-cooker
Well, my idea was to bake a cake in the slow cooker, but I didn't have the right ingredients at home. Fortunately, I had self-raising flour at home, and apples, so the idea of an apple pie was quickly born.
Ingredients for this apple-pie
300 grams of self-raising flour
200 grams of unsalted butter (at room temperature)
160 grams of white caster sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
about 6 apples (I used Elstar)
1 egg (room temperature)
50 grams of regular sugar
little salt
Tip:you can add soaked raisins if you want. Very tasty, of course, only our kids are not such a fan.

Preparation of the dough for the apple-pie in the slow-cooker
Cut the butter into pieces and place in a large bowl
Add the self-raising flour, the 160 grams of white caster sugar, the salt and 2/3 of the egg
Knead the mixture with a mixer and dough hooks, or simply with your hands (I personally find it more convenient), into a piece of dough
Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes in the fridge
Preparation of the apple filling
Peel, core and cut the apples into small pieces
Mix the apple pieces in a bowl with the regular sugar (50 grams) and the cinnamon
Preparation-method in the slow-cooker of the apple-pie
When the apple pie dough has been in the fridge for 10 minutes, you can start preparing it in the slow cooker.
Put baking paper at the bottom of your slow cooker, those folds that come in, it doesn't matter
Take 3/4 of your dough ball and use it to make the bottom of your apple pie in the slow cooker on the baking paper
Don't forget to raise the edges in the slow cooker too
Fill the 'dough tray' in your slow cooker with the apple filling
Make rolls of the 1/4 dough that you have left. Flatten them a bit and place them cross-left over your apple pie
Brush the strips that you have placed cross-left with the little egg you have left
Place a tea towel around the lid of the slow cooker to catch the moisture
Set your slow cooker to high for 4-6 hours, check in between by pricking the dough with a skewer and then enjoy a delicious apple pie!
