We're finally going to be able to eat some good ice cream, in the dark! It is true that a priori, it is not the most useful novelty of the year but imagine a beautiful romantic evening along the beach, in the middle of summer. It's still hot, you decide to enjoy an ice cream while walking, feet in the sand. Darkness is gradually gaining the sky and your cone shines with a thousand lights. Class right?
Three tastes, three colors
We owe this little culinary revolution to the 196 Below brand (located in Melbourne, Australia), already known for its liquid nitrogen-based ice cream recipes. At the moment, you can find three different flavors there:
1. Pineapple/lime
2. Mango/passion fruit
3. Raspberry
This particularity is obtained thanks to a coloring liquid which reacts to UV. But don't worry, you won't end up with a third eye or a wolf's tail on your back:Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (Australia's counterpart to our national food safety agency, Environment and Labor, which tests and approves all food products before they are put on the market) affirmed that the consumption of this ice cream is safe.
And to top it off, in addition to shining, this new kind of gourmet pleasure is totally vegan (without dairy products) and it does not contain preservatives. Who's jumping with us on the first plane to Australia?
