When we go to dinner with a friend, we often bring back flowers... Let's say it's a good use! Well this time we suggest you reverse the roles and offer roses to your guests. We assure you it won't cost you much and it will be crispy and delicious! You must have seen small pies or pizzas in the shape of a flower on social networks:food bloggers are snapping them up and Facebook pages are crazy about them... And when you try, you understand why:the visuals are just crisp and the taste appointment. Enough to make your friends salivate and delight your taste buds.
The real little extra is that these are very inexpensive recipes, which can be changed according to your convenience and above all there is something for everyone:vegetarians, sweet lovers and carnivores... So put on your apron, the session is going start.
For all recipes, you need a base:
– 1 teaspoon / 1 fork
– 1 to 2 bowl(s)
– Muffin tins (don’t forget to butter them!)
– 1 oven
Once you have all that, put on your favorite spring music, since it's our turn to make flowers bloom and let's go!
We start with the lightest:zucchini flowers with goat cheese
For this recipe, in addition to the base, you will need:
– 1 roll of puff pastry (for 8 pieces)
– 1 large zucchini
– 100g fresh goat cheese
– 1 teaspoon of dried mint
– Pepper / salt
Cut the zucchini into thin strips (if you have a mandoline or if you can borrow one from your neighbor… That’s the best!). Blanch them in well-salted water for 1 to 2 minutes to soften them. Then put them in ice water to stop the cooking and put them aside in a bowl.
Take a small bowl and mix your goat cheese, mint, pepper and salt with a fork (you can add thin slices of dried tomatoes to the mixture… I say that, I say nothing!). Cut strips of puff pastry and weld the two ends to the ends of the dough so you don't have a mess.
And that's where it all comes down to it:spread each strip with a little goat cheese mixture and then line up the zucchini strips on top, overlapping them. Fold the strip of dough over the top and roll to get a rose.
Then it's simple:you put everything in the muffin molds and bake for 10 minutes at 200°C then another 20 minutes at 150°C. TADAM! It's all beautiful, all hot and there is more than to enjoy with a good glass of wine (or juice)!
Let's go heavy (and good fat) with the chorizo pizza flower.
For this recipe, in addition to the base, you will need:
– 1 pizza dough
– Tomato sauce (you can also make it homemade!)
– Slices of chorizo (if you prefer ham or salami… feel free to adapt)
– Grated cheese (which you can also buy fresh and grate yourself! Emmental, Comté, goat cheese etc. whatever it makes your mouth water)
Gently cut your pizza dough into horizontal strips, brush them with tomato sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. Then, just cover everything with chorizo before rolling them to get a flower. Arrange them in the muffin molds and bake your preparation for 15 minutes at 190°C. And There you go ! All that's left is to have fun. Well, it's true that it's not super light, but it's the weekend and at worst you're going to do some shopping by bike! (There is a solution to every problem).
Now let's turn to our friend sugar. It's like the diamond, it's our best friend! Here is a great recipe that will be a hit at snack time, brunch or even dinner:apple rose
For this recipe, in addition to the base, you will need:
– 1 all-butter puff pastry
– 2 beautiful red or pink lady apples
– ½ lemon
– Sugar
– Jam (whatever you want! Apricot and Raspberry work very well)
You will see it is very easy! Cut the apples into thin strips (honey mandolin, I'll never leave you again!), then dip them in the lemon juice. The little trick is then to put all the pieces of apple in the microwave so that it softens. You will be able to roll them without breaking them. The rest you know:cut strips of puff pastry, brush with jam (light light) and arrange the apple slices. Roll up the little roses and put them in the muffin tins. (If you're really naughty put a hint of salted butter on top with a little cane sugar... But we didn't tell you!). All that remains is to bake the roses for 45 minutes at 180°C.
There you go, we've finished the rose marathon... Spring is definitely good!
