Americans like to reinvent the croissant, that's one thing for sure (croissant burger, cronut, etc.). And for those who have never been there, know that in the United States, the birthday cake ("birthday cake") is a "perfume" on its own. Yes, a taste like chocolate, vanilla or strawberry what. As a result, there are many "birthday cake" candies that are actually filled with those colored sugar flakes found on traditional cakes... As Americans are always fond of culinary creations (sometimes dubious, admittedly) , the Brazilian pastry chef Thiago Silva (no, not the PSG player!) has come up with a new original creation. And it was at the Gastrohall of Union Fare in New York that he presented it.
Filled with the birthday cake with colored sugar nuggets and a cream that seems to be mascarpone, the pastry seems terribly…caloric! But it turns out that in real life it is not that sweet and not that bad. And it seems to be very easy to do. One thing is certain:this little sweetness is terribly photogenic for Instagram!
For the moment, only New Yorkers can taste it, because the 32-year-old pastry chef's croissant has not yet crossed the Atlantic... And if our London neighbors could fall in love with it, not sure he will meet one too great success with the French, generally (more) straddling gastronomic traditions! Would you like it?
