We may have found the perfect dessert for the holidays… And which is a radical change from the traditional Yule log. Pair a heart-warming product, chocolate, with another that has a similar effect:red wine. And that just makes the red wine brownie! So no, we're not grimacing too quickly:the two ingredients, contrary to what one might think, go together wonderfully. It's all about getting the right dose, of course. Tempted? Follow the chef's recipe from the British newspaper The Independent !
We start by preheating the oven to 170 degrees and buttering a rectangular dish, before melting 200 g of dark chocolate and 170 g of salted butter over a pan of boiling water. Then add 250 ml (25 cl) of red wine, then 250 g of powdered sugar, 75 g of brown sugar, 130 g of flour, 3 beaten eggs and a tablespoon of vanilla extract. A little advice from the chef:it is possible to add two tablespoons of soluble coffee for even more taste! And hop, in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Then let cool, and sprinkle with cocoa. Tada! We can smell the good smell from here...
For those who would like to have a little taste of the mixture without getting into the preparation of a cake, there is also the mulled chocolate-red wine recipe (we are already dreaming of it by the fireside)! We make it short:in a saucepan, pour milk (1/2 cup) which is cooked with dark chocolate shavings (1/3 cup). Stir until you get a creamy and homogeneous mixture, then pour the red wine (1 cup), and wait until everything is hot. The food blogger Imma Eat That behind the recipe warns:it's a heavy drink, so avoid using two mugs, but rather 6-8 small cups.
All that's missing is the snow, and we're there! In the meantime, we let you admire the result...
