Prosecco is undoubtedly the summer drink par excellence:fresh and low in alcohol (remember that alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health), it can be enjoyed on the terrace for an aperitif or as an accompaniment to a of fish. If some may confuse it with champagne, after all, it is also a fruity and sparkling white wine, prosecco is indeed a separate alcohol. And it has just been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In England, Switzerland, Germany, the United States and Canada, sales of prosecco have exceeded those of champagne. And worldwide, 460 million bottles of prosecco were sold in 2018, compared to 302 million for champagne. But in France, prosecco has struggled to establish itself because many crémants and champagnes are already present on the market. However, sales of this sparkling wine increased by 45% in 2016. This success is also due to the Spritz, this Venetian summer cocktail that mixes aperol, prosecco and sparkling water and which has been very successful since a few years.
