And if the Italians were not ultimately the best placed to make good pizzas? This is what the ranking of the 50 Top Pizza site (yet made by Italians!), which has been listing the best pizzas by continent since 2018, suggests. And in Europe, it is the London restaurant of the Italian chain 50 Kalò which wins the prize for the best pizzeria. Just behind, comes the Parisian pizzeria Bijou, which is located on the Montmartre hill. And it is Bæst, a pizzeria in Copenhagen, which closes the top 3 of the best European pizzerias.
In total, 7 French pizzerias managed to enter this top 50, and they are all in Paris (again, we had nothing to do with it!). We find Ober Mamma in 4th place, Louie Louie in 18th place, Manhattan Terrazza in 19th place, Pizzeria Tripletta in 33rd place, Pizzeria Popolare in 34th place and Vera Pizza Napoletana Guillaume Grasso in 49th place. The first Italian pizzeria comes in 25th place with La Stella del Sud. In other words, you don't have to go very far to eat good pizzas.
Good to know:you will however have to pay the price if you want to eat one of the best pizzas in Europe. At Bijou, the vegetarian margarita is €16.
