Are you one of the 83% of French people* who drink coffee daily? There are also 76% of people who start the day with a cup of coffee (we even know some who say "Don't talk to me before my coffee!"…), while nearly one in two French people (49 %) likes to drink it in the afternoon, to give yourself a little boost. But with summer and sunny days, drinking something hot is not always pleasant, because we seek above all to quench our thirst. This is why people generally opt for cold or iced drinks, such as sodas, beers, cocktails with or without alcohol... but also iced/frappé coffee! 55% of French people claim to be interested in this drink, a figure that rises to 62% among those under 35.
It is no coincidence that brands like Starbucks offer it in several à la carte versions (the Frappucinos of course, but also the Doubleshot Iced Coffee Classic, Doubleshot Iced Coffee Vanilla and Nitro with vanilla-flavoured cold milk foam ), just like some cafes all over France. It is also found in a take-out version in supermarkets, again under the Starbucks brand, but also at Alpro (3 flavors from almond, soy-caramel and coconut vegetable drinks), Nescafé (with 3 variations of Shakissimo) or even Miko (with the surprising Café Zéro). And if you're ever addicted, you can always get homemade and/or decaffeinated!
