Noma named winner of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2021

The stars of the restaurant world came together last night (October 5, 2021) for The World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2021 in Antwerp. This year, restaurants from 26 countries on five continents have secured a place in the top 50 list, culminating in the announcement of a new number 1:René Redzepi took the stage to receive a double title for his restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, as The World's Best Restaurant 2021 and The Best Restaurant in Europe 2021.

Noma takes over the first place from Mirazur, which in turn has officially conquered a place in the Best of the Best hall of fame. Noma already finished second in 2019 when it was announced as Highest New Entry after their new start. This new version of Noma qualified for the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants because of three major changes after their rebirth:the location, the concept and the owner. Noma is joined in the top three by Geranium (No. 2), also in Copenhagen, and Asador Etxebarri (No. 3) in Atxondo, Spain.
