What could be more convivial than a good raclette to bring together your whole family or his friends ?
And contrary to popular belief, a raclette doesn't have to be very expensive.
Graubünden meat, coppa, raw ham… When you think raclette, you automatically think charcuterie, which is far from the most affordable in stores.
However, organizing a raclette will not necessarily ruin you, rest assured!

Start by buying the first basic ingredient:cheese.
For this step, don't be fooled by pre-sliced packets, which are often much more expensive per kilo than cheese by the cut.
Opt for a classic raclette cheese, made from raw milk, usually displayed at around ten euros per kilo.
Do not hesitate to take a little more, there is nothing worse than running out of cheese at the end of the meal!
Then move on to potatoes, the star products of raclette! Again, think big. I generally plan on four to five potatoes per person, or even more if I have big eaters for dinner.
My tip for limiting purchases of charcuterie is to add other vegetables, normally absent from a raclette:boiled zucchini, raw mushrooms cut into strips, sections of carrots and heads of broccoli.
I also serve a silly green salad, to break up a little with the fat from the cheese... and fill stomachs at a lower cost!
Finally, for charcuterie, I bet on the diversity of meats:white ham, of course, rosette and Strasbourg sausages for the classic inexpensive charcuterie.
I also add chicken breast (cheap and very popular, especially the little ones!), raw ham, slices of sausage and coppa.
Most of the time, I try to ignore the overpriced grison meat by relying on an awful lie like "oh, no, that's too stupid, I forgot to buy some …! .
One last tip:consider hard-boiled eggs. They will cost you around two euros a dozen, and they go perfectly with melted cheese and salad!
Finally, when it comes to side dishes, don't forget the pickles and olives.
There are 200 grams of cheese per person, i.e. about 2 euros worth of cheese for each guest .
At six , so you will have for 15 euros by taking a little rab.
Potato level, with one kilo, you will easily feed a table of 6 people.
Count four courgettes, 250 g of mushrooms, a few carrots and heads of broccoli.
That's about 6 euros worth of vegetables .
For charcuterie, the most expensive item, you will be around 15 to 20 euros if you take private label (a little more, of course, if you rely on big brands).
In the end, for six, your raclette will therefore cost you 40 euros at most, or less than 8 euros per person.
Imagine, for the price of a McDonald's, you have a complete, balanced meal (thanks to the salad and various vegetables) and frankly good.
Plus, you should even have some leftovers, which will allow you to make vegetable gratin covered with raclette or sandwiches for work.
On the other hand, you absolutely need a raclette machine to make your recipe. This one for 8 people is really cheap!
