Three meals in 23 minutes

Taking the time to eat? No, it is not. On average, we spend six minutes at breakfast, eight minutes at lunch and nine minutes at dinner. So we spend a total of 23 minutes on our meals.

Problems
It's not healthy to eat that fast. Some of those surveyed had digestive problems, a smaller proportion of which also confessed to eating too quickly.

Work is to blame
Most respondents blame their work. 20 percent skip breakfast to get to work earlier. A quarter skip lunch in the afternoon, or have lunch at the desk.

Plan
Dinner is often planned somewhere in between all the activities. The average family plans three meals a week in advance. Perhaps that is the reason why almost a fifth of them sometimes skip meals.

How should it be?
88 percent of those surveyed know that you should set aside at least 20 minutes to eat. 65 percent think we should chew every bite 10 times, but actually that's 20 to 25 times.
