Sleepy due to fatty food

To stay alert during the day it is best to eat carbohydrates. Eating fatty foods would actually make you sleepy.

That's what researchers at Penn State College of Medicine discovered. For the study, a group of 31 healthy volunteers stayed in a laboratory.

Meals
The participants were served meals by the researchers. For example, they discovered that high fat consumption leads to more sleepiness during the day. Carbohydrates actually increased alertness. No association was found between proteins and fatigue.
