Friday 16 October is World Food Day again, the day on which we take action worldwide and advocate for sufficient, healthy and sustainable food for everyone. The Netherlands is participating in a live show that can be followed online in which chefs, experts and food changers start a conversation about the future of our food. The film platform Cinetree will show three high-profile Food Films for free in the weekend following World Food Day. The World Food Day Show 2020 will take place live on Friday, October 16 between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
Program
During the show, hosts Helen Kranstauber and Ikenna Azuike take the audience on a journey through food problems that occur all over the world:such as malnutrition and its causes, obesity due to unhealthy food and healthy and unhealthy forms of agriculture. The urgency of SDG2, but above all what you can do as a consumer to contribute to food security for everyone. A selection of the speakers who will be speaking on October 16:

In this action-oriented talk show, Leonie Barelds (Unicef) and Nout van der Vaart (policy advisor at Hivos) show what is happening worldwide and what you can do in the Netherlands. Eva Koffeman (youth representative for biodiversity and food for the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) talks about the major role that young people (from millennials to Gen-Z) play in the transition to a more sustainable food system.

Claire van Enk (founder Farm to Feed) speaks to the audience from her current residence in Kenya. Lianne de Bie, director of the Slow Food Youth Network Netherlands (SFYN) and Abdelhamid Idresse of the online platform Boeren voor Buren present the Netherlands.
