This recipe for alcohol-free stewed pears is from Leukrecepten.nl.
Ingredients
- 6 wild man stewed pears
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 75 gr white caster sugar
- 350 ml + a little extra berry juice
- 150 ml of water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Preparation
- Peel the stewed pears. Add the berry juice, water and sugar in a deep saucepan. Add the star anise and cinnamon stick. Put the pears in here. The stewed pears will not be completely submerged, so it is important to turn the pears in between. Add a little more berry juice if necessary.
- Sauté the pears over low heat for 90 minutes. Remove the pears from the pan. In a small bowl, mix a little of the warm berry juice in the pan with 1 teaspoon cornflour to a smooth paste. Then add to the rest of the berry juice in the pan and stir well until a thick sauce is formed. Use this to get the stewed pears for a nice shiny layer.
