The idea was to go to the restaurant but since the evening of Valentine's Day is common to all couples, they finally prefer to stay quiet at home and order. As a result, the boss of the brewery downstairs checks the cleanliness of his shoes while waiting for potential customers, then he looks annoyed at the Deliveroo delivery man on the sidewalk opposite making his delivery.
Because having dinner delivered on Valentine's Day is a growing practice. Proof of this is, according to a recent survey commissioned by Deliveroo and Happn, the delivery company saw in 2019 a 39% increase in orders for two people on the evening of February 14, i.e. a 10% increase in duo orders compared to to the previous week.
A study which also tells us that French and Italian cuisines are favored by nearly two thirds of respondents as being the most romantic cuisines. It is also by eating everything that you increase your chances of pleasing since 44% of French people consider the omnivorous diet to be the most attractive.
As for the dishes that are favored by couples? Well, it's the traditional cheeseburger and fries that tops the order with the Margarita pizza and the tiramisu. Deliveroo also noted an increase of 41% on orders of spaghetti and 27% on those containing chocolate, responding a little more to the cliche of the dish of love.
Unsurprisingly, among the dishes to avoid, we find 34% of dishes containing onion or garlic. An observation affirmed by Deliveroo which notes on its application a drop of 10%, on the evening of Valentine's Day, on orders containing onion. Let's conclude on this.
